No matter what our job or profession, we all interact with other human beings in our social and family lives. When we also interact with others in the workplace, it becomes even more important to be approachable And yet, we do not learn the essential skill of interpersonal communication in school. We learn correct grammar. We learn how to write, read, spell and sometimes, how to write business letters, resumes and cover letters. But we do not learn how to get along with others. We do not learn how to approach interpersonal problems in ways that actually solve them – or at least, not in ways we know will solve them. It’s a process of trial and error, of watching others and learning how they do it. Some people never learn this skill. Some people appear to be born with it. Most of us are somewhere in between. Most of us have learned the skills necessary to survive in our world – but it would be wonderful if we could also learn the skills necessary to thrive in our world. At Online Self Help Reources.com we are developing and ever growing collection of materials to help you improve your skill in communication starting with the all-important "People Skills."
