Attitude – It’s all in your head!

Some people go through amazing hardships with a hopeful, positive outlook. Others allow the slightest mishap to influence them into being totally negative.

Your attitude is the most important thing to either make it or break it for you in just about all aspects of life.

The unfortunate thing about these last two statements is that if you have a bad one you probably don’t believe them!

People with a positive outlook know, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are true.

Employers hire for it.

Couples stay together or split because of it.

Friendships are created or not, last or dissolve because of it.

Whether you have a good day or a bad day depends on you choose to view it.

Here is a story about what could have been a very bad day.

These statements are not to say that a positive or a negative outlook is the only thing affecting hiring, breakups and how much you enjoy your day, but it has a huge impact.

Attitude quotes can help redirect your attitude whether it is suffering a temporary setback, or whether it has been set to negative for a long time.

To look first at the employment field: an employer can send staff to courses to learn necessary “hard” (technical) skills.

But where can he send someone to learn a good, positive outlook on life?

Have you ever been in a restaurant or a store where the server or clerk had a real chip on their shoulder?

In the restaurant, they probably dumped your food in front of you, and looked annoyed when you asked for a refill of your coffee. In the store, they probably found “other things to do” while you waited for them to attend to you.

You can tell by the expression on their face, you can tell by their body language, and – this may or may not be a surprise to you – you can tell by their writing.

The secret that people with a negative outlook don’t know is that attitude is a choice.

You only have a bad one if you choose to have one.

No-one gave it to you. No-one made you have it.

And no-one will prevent you from losing it, should you choose to.
Like all change, changing how you look at life is not easy if you have had a lifetime, or even a few months of drowning in the misery of negativity.

But you can do it, and it’s well worth the effort.

Looking at life in a positive way, looking for the good things, can make you happy. Negative people are seldom happy.
